Today my sister Ann met with her doctors at Duke. They were happy with her progress and told her that her tumor shrunk. We are so happy and relieved that everyone's prayers and hope for Ann are working. When I spoke to her on the phone earlier, she said " I am not out of the woods yet, but headed in the right direction." Thank you to all of my friends in this class who have been sending prayers, support, and good wishes this week. Working on this blog each night has been good therapy for me coming to terms and talking about her illness. It is also a great distraction because it is keeping me so busy. At the end of the day and after this great news, work will be better tomorrow, my life is looking up, and I know hope is real and I will continue to have it everyday! Thank you again to you all.

My son Gavin, Ann's godson, in his first Duke t-shirt. He provides her with a lot of hope, and is a great distraction! |
Gina, you'd be surprised to know how encouraging Ann's words have been to me. She'd probably be even more surprised to know that she's impacting people who she doesn't even know. I believe that when she finally does make it out of the woods she'll be much better and stronger than when she first went in. She has the right support around her and many people praying for her. Continue to be encouraged...even when you don't feel like it. It'll pay off in the near future.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for those really supportive words. Ann is my older sister and has always been my rock and go to person. We are grown and not only work together but also live six minutes down the road from eachother. I admire her now more than ever and I am happy that she can encourage you as well. Thank you again Crystal. I am very touched by your kindness.
